Junior/Mid-Level Game Engineer

The game engineer role is responsible for developing our game-specific modules within Unreal 5 and polishing them with the designers and directors.

Responsibilities:

  • Work will range from rapid prototyping to production development. Most of the work will be done in Unreal Engine, both in C++ and Blueprints. Some prototypes and features may be done completely in C++.
  • Provide time estimates for tasks.
  • Collaborating with designers, artists, and programmers, to design, implement and iterate on game systems (combat, AI, camera, inventory, etc.) to deliver a world class gaming experience.
  • Extending existing game systems to provide new or improved functionality to match updated designs.
  • Implement software systems with attention to security, reliability, scalability, maintainability and performance.
  • Identify and articulate technical and production risks and obstacles; generate and implement solutions in collaboration with the team.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of game programming preferred.

Bonus:

  • Working knowledge of Unreal 4 and/or 5.
  • Strong C++ programming ability with some C# knowledge
  • Knowledge of Python, Powershell, and Visual Studio with strong experience debugging and profiling code.
  • Solid understanding of asynchronous programming techniques.
