Technical Artist

The role of the technical artist is to bridge the gap between the technical requirements of a particular asset and the visual target. Determining optimal workflow, tools and import/export paths for all assets in the game is an important function for the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering and art to determine asset spec and pipeline.
  • Build tools to increase quality and speed of asset creation and integration.
  • Provide guidance on optimization of each asset in service of increasing framerate, decreasing memory, and in general ensure each asset is stable and within spec.
  • Facilitate communication and asset pipeline between engineering and artist teams.
  • Ensure that graphic bugs are fixed according to their priorities and provide support to the other artists.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in writing tools, scripts, and pipeline development for game visual effects or video game development experience.
  • Complete understanding of game workflows and pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Unreal 5, Maya, Houdini, and other packages.
  • Strong creativity, verbal/written communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate to cross-functional teams i.e. engineers and artists.
  • Passion/interest in Gaming & Tech industry.
  • Experience with rigging, shaders, and PBR lighting.
  • C++, Python and UE5 Blueprint experience.

Base Salary:

    $107,000 - $180,000
